Franklin & Marshall Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Men’s Collection

A step back in time to the origins with a journey unveiling the American sportswear that has always marked Franklin & Marshall. The 1950s in Florida has been chosen as the ideal setting for Summer 2015: the collection features vintage postcards and floral patterns typical of those years, alternating with a mix of all-over and colour-block. A stylistic choice embracing the four souls of Franklin & Marshall: Campus, Lab, Varsity and Alumni.

Proposed shades: a mix of slub fabrics, mélange and original colours enhanced by floral prints are present in the polo shirts, shorts, and sweatshirts. The fit has been updated to further match the street world, as well as the graphics, revisited and proposed with more linear and contemporary lettering, particularly on trousers, sweatshirts and chinos. Mesh blended with cotton and jersey represents one of the collection strong points, proposed as a fashionable element in inserts of t-shirts or vests and shorts.

The jackets fully express Franklin & Marshall’s passion for American sportswear, thanks to the use of satin and super light fibres taken directly from college team uniforms.

The LAB collection: trendier and stylish with urban sports such as fix gear, parkour and skate as the protagonists of garment prints for t-shirts and sweatshirts, with details highlighted by reflex items. The denim part proposes classical fits and washings with floral print patches they are recalled in the details of patches and pockets. Swimwear completes the collection in three different lengths with 1950’s style prints inspired by the world of surfing. Accessories in the spotlight with hats, beach towels, flip-flops and backpacks.

Women’s Collection

California beaches, surfing and skating are the sources of inspiration for the women’s collection. The Franklin & Marshall Spring/Summer 2015 collection features a more fashionable and contemporary woman, whose needs find the right mix: jersey and sweatshirt clothes with a varsity soul for a more casual and sporty look, and devoré details, for a more sophisticated and feminine style.

All-over prints are present with vintage floral patterns, hints of animalier and neat lettering graphics. The varsity DNA stands out in the colour contrasts, graphics inspired by American sportswear and stone washings giving the garments a worn look. This fashion trend began with the Fall/Winter 2014 collection and is expressed in revisited fittings, which represent the right balance between comfort and style. Various lengths enhance wearability - from oversized sweatshirts and t-shirts to the new light jersey crop-tops. Mesh, just like with the menswear Spring/Summer 2015 collection, also plays a leading role, as an insert in t-shirts, dresses and shorts. Denim features new washes, in particular dark washes with floral patches, printed graphics and felt applications. Gold is seen often in the collection graphic choices, proposed both in the print details and as dominant shade in jackets, where the use of satin stands out in all-over print and gold versions.

To complete the collection 2 new swimwear styles: a reversible triangle bikini with a sportier look, and a slightly padded bandeau top bikini that enhances the female figure; both proposed in a mix of brightly coloured floral and tropical prints.
